When determining size of saddle bags always measure pipe side so bags keep off pipes at least 1"- 1 1/2". Leave room for passenger legs and feet room if desired. And keep in mind the bags should not be up against rider . Turn signals are a big factor the saddle bags cannot go past them usually ( we have mounted under turn signals with carrier) but top usually open up against the turn signals. When going over shocks bolting on bags usually we do a offset or cup to keep away from shock.
